The body weight fluctuates- doesn't always move in a perfect line down a graph.
If you've been craving salty foods, and thus eating more sodium lately, the 2 pounds could be all or mostly due to retaining water from the higher sodium. And/or hormones, TOM, stress, etc.
Your calorie range sounds ok to me, though I'm not an expert. If you said you were always on the low end of the range, then perhaps more would be better. But if you're staying in the range and at least sometimes eating on the higher end - and meeting your nutrient goals for the most part - just keep doing what you're doing. Keep your eye on the end prize, and you'll get there!

Never make a change based on one week's weight. There are hundreds of things that can affect your weight on any given day, most of which have nothing to do with what you ate or the exercise you did. This week, it could literally be the moon! The moon affects the movement of water on Earth, and our bodies are mostly water. Unexpected changes in weight are almost always caused by water retention, so you can blame it on the "supermoon" if you like.
A more likely cause is something you can check by looking at the calendar. Most women do have a 2-5 pound "gain" every month at some point in their hormonal cycle. Count back 28 days or so, and compare this week's weight to that week's weight. The chances are extremely high that you'll find your answer right there.

Hi, after following a different diet system for 2 years i do know that 1-2 lbs loss a week is best if you want to keep it off in the long run so that is great your doing that, not eating enough can cause weight loss to slow but if your eating as you said that shouldn't be a problem eating in the evening especially carbs for me is my biggest downfall and unfortunately after losing 40lbs i put 30 back on in the last 6 months and basically it was down to me snacking during the evening, my advice is try and lose the night snacking habit hard i know cos I'm really struggling myself, i'm trying to cut my carbs down at the moment i'm at the high end of my carb allowance but am trying to get it to the lower end cos i know i crave cabs the more i have the more i want hope this helps a little. Dont be disheartened about your gain next week you may lose edouble funny how our bodies work
I am a 38 year old female that wants to lose about 30 lbs. I am 5'5" and currently weigh 160.7. I have been using this site for about a month and a half and love it. Up until now I have been loosing 1-2 lbs a week which I think is great, I also am going to the gym roughly 3 times a week 30 min cardio plus strength training. This week the scale tells me I actually gained 2 pounds (as of this morning) which got me down but I thought maybe it is I am gaining muscle weight from working out. I have crazy salt cravings at night also.
I am wondering if maybe I'm actually not eating enough. I have my calories set at Your Daily Goal: 1,275 - 1,750 Carbs:143 - 196 fat: 35 - 48 Protein:95 - 131.....I had been staying within these but the last few nights because I felt the need for salt I went over a bit on carbs & fats but only by a few, I try to pick the healthiest I can. Please help me, I want to lose this weight and learn how to life a healthier lifestyle and was feeling great. But like I said, I think maybe I'm not eating enough for my body to work properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
