I agree--use the gym for weight lifting. I find cardio machines pretty boring and useless for the most part, so I do my big weight lifting at the gym, along with kettlebell and bodyweight exercises at home. I also walk all over the place!

It's true that a comprehensive strength training routine can be done and dusted real quick. I don't get it done in 15 minutes including warm up and stretching, but it's also not an extended workout by any means.

I agree too. Weights videos at home don't give you the opportunity to really work to your best heaviest weight to failure. They're more circuit or cardio like, than actual strength training. So you're not getting ANY good quality strength training in your week!

So do weights 2-3 times at the gym, and use a cardio dvd at home instead of a weights one.

Last time I did a cardio warmup, full body routine, and stretching, I was out of the gym in 15 minutes. It doesn't have to take long and for strength training it's not about how long you spend doing it, it's about doing it right.

I agree, I think you need to fit in a little more strength training, maybe add in at least one more session in the middle of the week. I think it's great that you end the week with some good stretching. I need to do more of that myself.

I'd hit the weights more at the gym. If you only have 40 minutes, then you can always do a cardio video to get in your cardio. But unless you have a nice home gym set up, I'd take advantage of the free weights at the gym for a good, full body routine at least 2 days a week, if not 3.
