Wake Up to a 10-Day Challenge This April!

Ok, so waking up early is tough for most of us. However, when you make an effort to do so consistently, it's entirely possible to make it a habit—which is a great way to build more fitness and productivity into your day. So, how would you like a little extra boost of motivation to A) Get up in the wee hours, and B) Make strides toward your healthy lifestyle goals at the same time?

We're going to help you do just that with our ''Rise and Shine'' Challenge! We got such a great response from our last ''Streak into Spring'' social challenge that we're starting a 10-day challenge to help motivate you to do something healthy to start your day. Your challenge is a simple, yet effective one. For the first 10 days in April, do one of the following things:

1)    Take time to eat a healthy breakfast in the morning every day

Or

2)    Exercise first thing in the morning every day

Or

3)    Both of the above!

Between April 1 and April 10TweetPin, +1 or comment on our Facebook page using the hashtag #riseandshine to stay accountable and let us know how you're doing. Then, we'll serve up tips and encouragement to keep you headed in the right direction! We will also be posting daily on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google+ to check in with your progress using the same #riseandshine hashtag. If you don't use social mediastart a SparkStreak and update your SparkPage status or blog every day to keep yourself accountable! 

There's no better time than RIGHT NOW to build more time into your day to focus on YOU!! This challenge is only 10 days long. You can do anything for 10 days, right?!

Well, I signed up for this challenge and got through Day 5 on Pinterest, but haven't seen any further postings for Day 6 or 7 and now it is Day 8. What gives? Report
I so need this challenge. I feel so much better getting up earlier in the day because it makes me feel like I can do more those days cause the sun and the time to do things before the evening that is usually the relax time of the day Report

I so need this challenge! I have never been a morning person.I get up,get everyone off to their days and then head back to bed for 2-3 hours! I know I could be doing something much more productive in that time frame.Good luck to everyone and God Bless! Report

Finally returned home, after being away for two months. Did have breakfast at a hotel on the way, but after unpacking the car and starting to put things away, I just never did exercise. Tomorrow is the day.
BTW, I do write a blog, every day, so far, on "Rise & Shine".
It's only 10:05 PM/Pacific Time where I live.

I am traveling back home after spending 2 months in the CA desert. Insisted on a healthy breakfast before leaving, this morning, took a 25 min. walk when we arrived at our halfway point. Will eat breakfast at the hotel, tomorrow morning, and hopefully get some exercise in, upon our arrival at home. I need this challenge, now, more than anything else, getting back to a healthier life style. I need the motivation and support. Report

I try to eat a healthy breakfast every morning, but it is always on the go. Would love hints for on-the-go breakfasts. No time to do exercise in the morning.. don't even ask me to wake up earlier. I work my second job until 11 or midnight, so need all the sleep I can get.

I'm doing a stair challenge! I live in Paris, France, so today and at least three times a week, I'm climbing the stairs up Montmartre (where the Sacre Coeur church is). There are nine flights of stairs and I do it four times in a row = 880 steps. The best thing is - I've met other regular stair walkers and I have a walking buddy! I can already feel my butt and thighs are firmer. And the best thing is - it's free! No gym fees. Got some stairs near you? #riseandshine and find some stairs to walk up! Report

I started my day in a good frame of mind..helped hubby in the garden for about a half
hour..since its a holiday here today 'Easter holiday' no work..After it was time for a cool relaxed breakfast! Report

I read some tips on how to get up earlier, and have stopped allowing myself to snooze past the alarm. Also, I put the alarm (my phone) across the bedroom so that I have to get out of bed to turn it off. Also have to go into the living room to turn off the radio alarm that sounds at 5:30 am.

Now I have to work on cutting back on my time wasting (on my Kindle Fire) in the mornings. :-) Report

#riseandshine- I'm a 5:30am riser every day. Every day, including today, I start the day with a nice big glass of cold water followed by breakfast of 2 eggs with sauteed veggies and at least 60 min of Integrated Pilates. Report

Without knowing about this challenge, I got up this morning and made a healthy berry shake for my breakfast to drink on the way to work. Perhaps this challenge will help me keep it up! Report
