Chef Meg's Fake "Fried" Cheese Sticks
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

Fried cheese is one of those foods that's so good and yet so bad! Chef Meg took out the "bad" part--the grease in which the calcium-rich cheese is fried. She uses light string cheese to recreate a favorite pub food. Make a plate of these the next time you and your family have a hankering for something gooey and cheesy Be sure to share them!

Chef Meg used panko, Japanese breadcrumbs, in this recipe. They are larger than regular breadcrumbs and create a light crunchy exterior. Some stores also carry whole-wheat panko.

Use Chef Meg's Italian herb blend in this recipe. It's fragrant and salt-free.

Dunk these cheese sticks in low-sodium tomato sauce. Full Recipe
