Success Strategies
(Choose and use whichever strategies fit your goals and situation the best.)

MOTIVATION

If you're feeling unmotivated to do a Short-Term Goal one day, make a deal with yourself: You don't have to do the whole thing this time, just start it.
Have others help out. Join up with someone with similar goals, so you're responsible not just to yourself, but to them as well.
Reread the Reasons Why you're pursuing this goal.
Apply the principle of compound interest. Understand that at the beginning of your program, it will most likely involve more effort than visible results.

ENVIRONMENT FOR SUCCESS

Keep your goals easy and non-disruptive, something you can weave into your everyday life.
Develop a variety of ways to pursue your goal.
Stay healthy.
Create a personal "rebound ritual".
Get rid of temptations, or at least make sure they're not around when you're doing your goal activity.

SMART STRATEGY

Rethink failure. If you fall off the wagon a bit, turn it around into a valuable lesson and an opportunity to keep going.
Focus on the process. In other words, don't try to do it all at once.
Have patience.
Avoid making up for setbacks by piling it on later.
