Secrets of Success

Ex Shopaholic

When I would go to the mall, I would park far away and leave my purse in the car. If I thought I wanted something, I would have to walk all the way to my car and back. Most of the time it was not worth the trip back.

More Information:

When it was a MUST HAVE, I had no problem going to the car and back. This really help me eliminate unnecessary shopping

Hide your purse under the seat--before you go to the mall so nobody sees you doing it and steals it. Unfortunately, there is a lot of crime at our mall. People have even been shot. Great tip though--thanks - by CJPJHM
  • This is the PERFECT tip for me:) I am such a shopaholic(and I work in retail emoticon ). I just love to shop~but with your tip,I might just go to a store, shop around, decide on something to buy and then on the way to the car I could very well change my mind. emoticon - by KARENE10

I'm a life time shopaholic. I revel in it. I don't see myself any other way. No, the pangs of debt are horrible but I will always LOVE to shop. Today I accidentally left money in the car when I went into shop so I only could afford what I went for! This is unusual for me but I asked her to hold the extra goods for me. I DID go back to get them because it was a little pick-me-up for myself AND a friend I wanted to brighten her day with some gifts. I did get a lot of my money, it was the .99 store. - by ALICEART2010
  • Years ago I read a tip to leave your wallet in your trunk and your credit cards at home. I started doing that when I went shopping with friends, but I put enough cash in my pocket for lunch. The mall is a 20 min drive so I can go back for anything I really want. I've saved a fortune not buying on impulse. - by DIANE7786
  • don't leave your purse in the car, that's not really safe, leave it at home and if you find something you must have go back for it. - by ANDI_3K
  • I should learn from your example, - by BECKYI
