love crafting but was sitting in too much clutter to enjoy it. I decided to take 1 room at a time and gave myself a deadline. Toy room, bedrooms, kitchen/utility are done. I have thrown out over a dozen bags of junk and given a lot to charity. Nearly done I will relax with kids and do my crafts!
I make sure I have plenty of time. The kitchen took a day and a half. My deadline was a good goal as it's end of school I gave myself a month to do the entire house and am about a week ahead of schedule. Once it's all done the house will be easier clean and more enjoyable to relax in.

When cleaning, I have a laundry basket that I can put the items into that don't belong in the room I am cleaning. That way I can concentrate on just one room at a time and then put the items away as I move to each room. It save me time and I don't get distracted by what needs done in the next room.
I have a hard time with straight up full-house cleaning, so we have a schedule on our fridge to do one room a night. It takes us less than 15 minutes to clean that room each week and our house stays much cleaner if I'm not having to try and find motivation to clean the entire house on a weekend!
