Keep an ongoing list on your computer or by hand of items you need to buy from all stores (supermarket, home depot, staples...) First colume is only food items, 2nd colume for everything else. Delete that item when you have purchased it.
As soon as you notice your out of something or running low on it go write it down on your list. Check weekly sales and buy backups of items you go thru faster.
