When I became a single mother taking care of one of my two children I had to rely on government programs to help me financially as I was in college. But even though I was bringing in less money ( a lot less money) than when I was married I made much better use of it - so I rarely had an issue that was more than a day long.
In other words there was always more month than money ...but I made it work....and I still use the same strategies now even though I have more money...
