We all need to really rest from time to time. Sometimes I rest my program. It's different than giving up or throwing it away. I'm just taking care of myself so as not to get upset and quit something I really want to do. So rest a while and then come on back.

Raisins are nature's candy bar-- good for preventing the BONK
Biking high intensity, taking a raisin break, and then biking the second half is what keeps me going. I'll eat 1.5 ounces of raisins which are loaded with fructose. It's great for taking a break on the mountain bike trail, and not only motivates me to push on the return home ride but also fuels my energy.
"Lakehead University in Ontario found that "...fructose and glucose are of equal value in prolonging exercise time to exhaustion in endurance cycling. Ingesting fructose before and during exercise apparently provided a more constant supply of glucose to be available to the working muscles."
By either a brief activity, like washing my hands, or a more serious time commitment, like taking a shower or taking a break outside I am learning that I can end a mood or at least give me a fresh start a rooting out the difficulty that started it. 381
