I was brought up to always clean my plate. Throwing food away was completely unacceptable. I have even found myself eating the leftover food off my kids' plates to not waste. NO MORE! I now live by the motto that it's okay to throw things away if I am full or if I don't like something.

  • Sadly, my mom still does it. Even if she really can't finish the leftovers, she will keep them in the fridge until they spoil. It's no use talking to her. We will instead get scolded. *sigh* - by PAPRINIKA
  • I find it very hard to throw food away, and cannot convince myself it's ok. I cannot put away the thought someone else is going hungry while I'm doing it.
But of course overeating is not ok, either. So I would recommend either cooking tight portions in the first place, or gathering the leftovers and make a small snack or next meal, or otherwise recycle them in a different meal altogether. - by ELTHIS
