  • Yes We often focus on losing the weight but no on shaping ourself. We burn more fat with more muscles. emoticon - by BOLEBRON
  • I never miss an episode - and try some of their exercises when I have the right equipment, or no equipment is needed. emoticon - by MI-ELLKAYBEE

  • Nice to know that building muscle is a good thing. Many women thinks they'll look like body builders if they do some weights (no insult meant to anyone who's a body builder). Toned muscle looks great! - by PROPMAN1

  • It has to be tailored for you. That's why muscle classes are so problematic. Even the speed of reps and the choice of music and number of reps and sets is always a work at your own pace reminder.
A pound of fat sure looks different from one of muscle, and we are all individuals and need to streamline our weight lifting.
One of the reasons I no longer watch that program. That and thr puking.

  • I making sure that I'm incorporating more weight training in my current weight loss goals, making good strides :D emoticon - by MRS_GLAM44
  • One big misconception is that muscle weighs more than fat!
A pound of fat, weighs the same as a pound of muscle....BUT....here's where people get confused! The muscle is more condensed than fat! So, if you tone muscle, you might not lose pounds, but you WILL BE smaller! Plus, muscle requires more calories to maintain it's function! Muscle will burn calories well after you stop working out! - by TRISH360
  • I circuit train and lift free weights three days a week for 60 min.
    I also do aerobics 5 days a week .
Plus pilates and yoga. I also walk every day for a mile or more.
I know the importance of building muscle. especially when you have lost a large amount of weight.
When you lose the body doesn't know the difference between fat and muscle, so you can lose muscle and not even know it, unless you get tested.
i get tested every 4 months as to how much muscle I have gained and how much body fat I have lost.

  • My favorite 'secret' is that I can strength train, then sit and do my work. I'm not sweaty, but refreshed and my muscles keep working well I do! emoticon - by MFLYNN8
  • Totally agree, and often forget the importance of building muscle. - by STREO2004
  • the muscle building i agree with the trainers at the gym i go to tell us that we need to remember that muscle weights more than fat !!
this is something you never hear on the show. they seem to stress the number on the scales. this season i have not been a faithful watcher of the show.

the group this year seem to be playing the money game more this year than in the past..
the disappointment on the trainer faces when the person only lost 2 to 3 pounds .
you never hear them say you know that the numbers on the scales are not the only sign of change. not a good show for me to watch.

I'm not sure I can do all that Biggest Loser workouts but I do my walking a lot of time while the program is on. If I haven't gotten my full amount of steps in by the evening then I'll do walking in place during programs. Works for me! emoticon - by SUZZQ4LIFE

  • My body does best when it has more muscle, too. Women so often fall for some hype. Unless you've got testosterone, gals...You're not going to "bulk up." - by LILY_SPARK
