Portion Control

I have a real challenge with portion control. I now check the package for the portion size, measure out the portions, place in zip lock baggies and put them back in the original box. Works really well with cereal & snacks. emoticon

  • I really like this idea. I make efforts to do portion control and find that as time goes by my "eye" is getting closer to the truth. One example, I measured a serving of cereal and put it into a bowl so I could visualize that serving. When I eat cereal, I always use the same bowl. This is a variation on your approach with pre-measuring cereal servings into zip lock bags. Whatever works!! It's all good!

  • I have been doing this for years and it really helps with family's portion control! My daughter now has a better idea what a portion size is for baked chips and whole gran cereal! I also found that I save money as items last husband would pour out of a box of cereal and the box would be gone in 2-3 days! Not an issue anymore! - by KYMOM13
  • Do you use a food scale? I can't diet without one!
Do you track food and exercise? I can't diet without a calendar [ as an old WW member, no WW in Greece for some years now :-( ]
Do you opt for 30:20:50 F-P-C recommended? It helps me stay focused. - by LIQUID11
