Anytime I am doing an activity where I would normally stand in one place for several minutes, such as drying my hair, brushing my teeth, washing dishes, I do side steps. I wear a step counter and I can add hundreds of steps to my day!

When I'm making photocopies, and the machine is doing its rhythmic thing, I'm doing mine right along with it. Side steps, or, if no one's around, kick-backs or knee lifts. Makes those long, dull copy runs quite profitable.

I discovered that I was avoiding a work out so that I could watch a television show. Then I remembered Tyra Banks saying she had removed her sofas so she would get on the treadmill or elliptical during her favorite shows. Now I march in place, do side steps & use hand weights during my favorite tv.
