I have NEVER been a runner in my life. I started the journey this spring and all it takes is mind over matter. Whenever I felt like stopping, my mind wouldn't let me. Slowy add more to your run and just continue to tell yourself I know I can do it!!

I am 50 years old and with the help of sp's 5K Your Way program I have become a runner for the 1st time in my life! I started walking several years ago but in the past year, running seemed to be a natural progression for me. I found the 5K program on sp and have been running for 6 weeks of an 8 wk program. If you have any desire to become a runner, this program could be for you!
I know this is so cliche', but it is so true!! If you want to be a runner, then go out and pretend you are a runner! Even if you can only run a few steps... just pretend during those few paces that you are a runner! Soon enough, you'll be running further than you ever thought you could!! Maybe you'll even become a runner! I know this works, I've spent the past 6 months "faking it" and now I'm ready to run my first half marathon in about 2 weeks. I've made it!!
