I'm joining my FIRST running club this year. Some clubs require you have a base of fitness or speed; others take complete beginners and use intervals like the C25K program to help them complete their first race. Team in Training requires fund raising for a great cause. So there are lots of options, but you will make friends, learn helpful tips, get support, and enter (& complete) an event together.

Motivation to exercise
I've found the best time to decide if I'm going to exercise is about 20 minutes into a routine! When I don't feel like getting started, I have a good, firm talk with myself, and head out (or start the DVD). Sure enough, in 15 or 20 minutes, I'm feeling great and wanting to continue!
