Setbacks are a part of life. Someone will bring in cake for a coworkers birthday. Your special someone will surprise you with dinner out. You'll have to work late. You'll get sick. These things happen. Just because you have an unperfect moment doesn't mean the entire day or week is lost.
I use the tips I've found on SP to combat everyday speed bumps. A surprise meal out is fine. I just ask for a to-go box right away and put half the meal away before I start eating. Working late is a bummer, but I will do wall push-ups, squats, and lunges on my bathroom breaks to get some exercise.

One of the most powerful things that SparkPeople has taught me is that although I can & will be imperfect, I can still be a success! If I miss a workout or go over on calories, I don't throw the towel in for that week, or even the whole day. I look at how far I've come & jump right back in.
Getting rid of the "all or nothing" mentality is the best thing I've done for myself!
I don't taste until I track! I put this rule in place for myself because skipping once is a slippery slope. And by making sure my food is logged before I indulge, I can see how much my choice will "cost" me and make a last minute change if necessary!
I've ditched food at the last minute that should have never made it to my plate because I tracked it first :)
