Finding mentors for healthy eating and exercise was key for me. Modeling some of my behavior on the positive examples of healthy friends and removing many of the negative influences has changed my life.

For example, dining with friends who eat healthily helped - I ordered the same way they did until it became second nature. Inspired by a coworker, I started walking and then running, and have joined a running group. The support and the accountability help tremendously!

    This is a great tip, but I am not sure where to go to find these people. Especially at work it seems that everyone has unhealthy habits.

    I do think it can be tough when you feel like you are the only person invested in improving their health. I was lucky enough to find a group of like-minded people, but I had to move to another state as a catalyst! I don't suggest anything as drastic, but maybe posting a flyer about looking for an exercise buddy at work, or joining a community center would be a possibility? The more allies you have, the better! Good luck :-)
