Find A Mentor Or Role Model Who Is Living A Healthy Lifestyle
Members Were Sparked
Finding mentors for healthy eating and exercise was key for me. Modeling some of my behavior on the positive examples of healthy friends and removing many of the negative influences has changed my life.
For example, dining with friends who eat healthily helped - I ordered the same way they did until it became second nature. Inspired by a coworker, I started walking and then running, and have joined a running group. The support and the accountability help tremendously!

Find a "fitness role model", someone who inspires you by their healthy lifestyle, and strive to learn successes from them that fit into your lifestyle as well. Kudos if you let them know about it so they can mentor you and keep you accountable.
Remember the positive role models that your grew up with. Even if most of the people in your life growing up were not taking care of themselves, if there was even one person who modeled a positive, healthy way to live, then you had a role model. Cherish those memories and the power that they give you now in your own health journey.
For myself, it was my father, who was always a disciplined exerciser and weight maintainer. There were teachers who were obviously in-shape because they took the time to exercise... later, my father-in-law was a great example a senior citizen making exercise a central part of his daily life.
You don't need to B just a role model in your exercise and eating habits. B a role model in other things too. When you run into a profound, life-changing experience, B forgiving. When possible, B a positive role model for your young children. They may need to have it pointed out to them, but maybe
not. When someone compliments you, graciously accept. You'll feel better & so will they. When you do something for someone in need, don't make a big deal of it to show others how "good" you are. Your goodness will shine through. B humble. The happier you are, the easier you will lose weight.
