When chopping onions, garlic and celery, I chop multiple onions, celery and garlic and put them in snack size baggies to store in the freezer. That way when I need to cook something with them in there, I just pull a bag out and it's already done!

  • I have done this many times. Especially with peppers from the garden. Chop them & freeze them in 1-cup portions, put all the small bags in one large freezer bag. Do this with the leftover celery from the store, too....can't pass up the buy-one-get-one-free sales. - by 2016ANEWME

    I do this too and it truly is a time saver, plus I don't throw out the remaining part when not needed. I also keep my ginger root in the freezer as it is easier to grate that way when needed! - by BAYBELIEVER
