Try substituting spaghetti squash for regular pasta next time you have spaghetti. It's quick and easy to cook in a zip-lock steamer bag in the microwave, and it tastes great with a good marinara sauce. Our whole family has enjoyed this and the kids even eat it!
Use the microwave for more than making popcorn and warming coffee! Cooking with your microwave is fast, healthy and keeps the heat down in the kitchen during the summer.
Despite what you may think, you don't have to use processed foods, either. I've made whole grains like brown rice and regular oatmeal, quick eggs for breakfast sandwiches, toasted nuts, melted dark chocolate for dipping fruit, baked apples and potatoes, and steamed spaghetti squash in minutes, all thanks to my microwave.

Swap out pasta and use a spaghetti squash instead! Cooks quick in the microwave for 5 minutes or can be cooked in the oven for 45 minutes (I prefer oven)! Cook up any veggies and protein you'd usually put in a pasta, and when the squash is done, scrape it out and toss it all together! It's just as delicious as pasta, but for way less calories! 48
