I have a Rubbermaid box that is designated for electronic cords (iPods, phones, etc). Each cord is put in a sandwich size or quart size baggie and put in the box. The bags can also be labeled once you figure out what the cord is for. The cords don't get tangled with each other either.

I do this also, and to label the cords I cut up post-it's in different colors for different things- like the cameras all have purple labels and the phones have sky blue. After I write what it goes to I use tape to seal the label and attach it to the cord- I comes out about the and inch and a half long by a half inch wide.

you can also put cords in toilet paper rolls - they fit nicely and you can write on the roll what the cord goes to
