Even if the song isn't happy or upbeat, sometimes using music to take my mind off of other things is the best thing I can do for myself. It gives me a few moments where I can lose myself in the lyrics (or the music itself) and redirect my negative energy

I agree completely!! Music really helps me take my mind off of the stress of jogging or working out....it helps me go farther than i would normally go without music!
