I am a testament that cutting alcohol does accelerate your weight loss. For years I would hit a weight loss plateau and get discouraged. I finally realized that drinking glasses of wine on the weekends was the culprit. This year I cut out all drinking and the results are amazing. No more plateaus emoticon

    Completely agree! When I quit drinking, my weight loss is DRASTIC! When I am drinking, my weight GAIN is DRASTIC! I have 5 years of weight charts. I top at 215 lbs., my lowest was 127 lbs. In late 2009 I lost 30 lbs. in 3 months when I was not drinking. In 2005 I dropped to 127 lbs. again, not drinking. Conversely, when I am drinking I will put on about 10 lbs. a month!! emoticon

    I've found this out too. I try to limit to one serving only and only a couple of times per week. I lose so much better when just drink a cup of herbal tea instead of beer or wine to relax at night. It's definitely a staller.

    Aint it the truth! I was cruising along, losing an average of 3 to 4 pounds a month and then hit the summer and bloody mary's! It slowed my progress down. I would go to the golf course almost everyday and afterward would hit the lounge for about two to four bloody Mary's (Tequilla kind). I didn't gain any weight back but my progress slowed down.

    i have ended all drinking and am not seeing much results and i was one who drank a pint a day. i keep hitting the gym and cutting back on fatty foods, maybe i will see some results soon.
