Stop the madness! Eating all the processed junk isn't good for you. If you're relying on a box to tell you there are no trans fats, then you're shopping in the store's wrong section. Shop the perimeter of your grocery store. (Produce/Meats/Cold) If you can't buy fresh, then buy fresh frozen. :)

Buy organic when you can! Support your local farmers and farm stands. Even if they aren't organic, your local farmer will tend to use less chemicals and pesticides.

I hear you! Fresh and in season is the only way to go. Well, frozen is ok in a pinch.

It is definitely healthier to eat fresh fruits and veggies. You may think they cost more but you will most certainly reap the benefits of being healthier and getting your vitamins without resorting to supplements. (which, saves you money) You can also control your cholesterol and blood pressure without prescription drugs. I did it and so did my husband!

We just bought a share of a local farm- we will have a box of vegetables dropped off on a weekly basis!

I purchase fresh fruits and vegetables all year, but I especially enjoy summertime when the farmers' markets open up and I am able to converse with the vendors and leave with a bag full of the best produce available (some of which never makes it out of the parking lot -- fresh berries, beans, plums, peaches -- too good not to sample). emoticon emoticon emoticon

On weekends, I cut up melons and pineapple, throw in some grapes. I then divide them into smaller glad containers ready for work the next week. It's so nice to have it ready to grab in the morning and helps keep me on track.

Now that I think about it, I'm already doing this for the most part. I never find much of anything in the middle of the grocery store that I want!

It sounds like getting back to nature. Have we come full circle?
