  • In all Asian houses we never enter the house with the shoes on.
That is the healthy way . - by JAMBUTTER
  • I grew up not having my shoes on in our house. It was forbidden. Now that I've moved out I do the same in my apartment, but when I visit them now they have shoes on! I guess that's what having a dog does to a family! - by PRANA_DANCER
  • We always wore shoes in the house until we had Japanese exchange students. I figured if they took their shoes off, the rest of us should too. Over the years I can really see what a difference it has made in the cleanliness of my home! - by SHARONSPARKLE
  • It also keeps the carpet clean....
I just can't get the dog to wipe its feet before coming in.

Definitely agree. After spending two years in Korea, my husband and I adopted their custom of removing ones shoes when entering the house. All of friends now know to deposit their shoes accordingly. A Very AWESOME custom if I should say so myself. - by AKAFIT
  • Are you in Japan? Ha. This reminds me of a NURSE years ago, NEVER wore her nursing shoes in her home. I guess I must live with alot of germs! BUT, I have resistance! - by SUNNYARIZONA
