I tried believing I could get my second knee replacement in spite of being out of FMLA benefits at work....actually it happened in May just as I had believed despite the fact that HR told me I had to wait until next year. I am scheduled May 21.
FMLA status doesn't matter as employees were asked to take "voluntary leaves for 6 weeks" which coincides with dates and length of my LOA for knee replacement. I believed in spite of contradictory "facts." I feel it is a miracle that it worked out for me.
