To me tracking weight loss in kilograms means the significant 5/10kg loss points seem long way apart. So I'm also mentally tracking in stones (I'm from the UK) and pounds. That way I give myself more pats on the back when I hit a round number of 10 pounds or drop to the next stone.

For example, I've dropped from 135kg to 133kg. That's good, but I also got an extra boost by dropping to 20 stone-something from 21st. My next 'goal' is 290 pounds., then 130kg. Smaller increments are more achievable!
