I try to take note of when I've replaced a bad habit with a good one or removed a bad habit altogether. This way when the scale doesn't move I can remember that my goal is fundamentally overall health, and the weight loss will come.
Be listening because occasionally friends, coworkers or family will notice before you do that you've made a change. You'll hear something like. "Wow. your still walking at every morning break?" or "She always brings a healthy lunch." That should be your goal, to hear those things.
