If you hate having a solid block of onion or garlic after moisture gets in your onion or garlic powder, get granulated onion or garlic. It's still small enough to blend into sauces, but large enough that the moisture doesn't make it clump.

I do not add salt to anything cooking. Instead I use garlic and onions and other spices to eliminate the need for salt. Fresh garlic and onions are especially good. I start out by adding a little low sodium Worcestershire sauce and brown the onions and garlic and then add the meat to cook too.
This flavor really is good and helps eliminate the need for salt.
I whipped together a delicious salad in less that 15 minutes last night.I browned chicken strips with garlic and onion powder right on the stove in a frying pan. I then tossed them in to mixed greens which I bought prewashed added oregano,more garlic and onion powder....low fat grated parm and croutons......balsamic vinegar and a touch of olive oil. IT WAS A FEAST!!! My daughter and I were full.334
