i found this set of ashtanga dvds to be a great foundation for beginning my martial arts practice. you can work up a sweat (especially with the more advanced dvd of the two) while practicing vinyasa, kicking, and core strength.

More Information:

awakening level is for anyone with basic athletic ability. once you learn it, it's a nice maintenance routine for flexibility.
i had to advance awakening and practice bits of source power before i could hang with the whole 100 minutes of the latter. both are easily modified & good whole body work.
