Pay it forward. We've all heard about it, but it is not a common practice. Every day, I try to do something nice for at least one person. Sometimes it's doing a favor they didn't expect, sometimes it's a sincere compliment. Other days, it's bringing them a cup of their favorite coffee.
By "Paying it forward", you make someone else happy, and you feel more positive about yourself. The more positive you feel about yourself, the easier it is to take control of your lifestyle change.
Doing a deed for some else makes the time pass quickly
It seems as soon as I reach out and touch someone's life, mine is blessed. I have a great feeling for helping Be it doing some laundry left in an apt. dryer of a busy mother she had forgotten to finish, or holding a fussy infant in church, when tired parents have been up all night. I know I had help with my 5 children, including triplets, when I needed it. Now I can gladly give back. They don't know where my strength comes from? I'm thankful I can return the favor to others.
To pay it forward is a beautiful concept. To return a favor is a loving gesture. Shall we in this day and age of fast pace, high tech- no front porch+coffee cake and chatting remember to reach out and touch someone and pass on good deeds and loose ourselves at least a few minutes in service.
Stop, look and listen and you will find your support system is all around you. Notice the smile in the hallway; the co-worker who compliments your outfit; the friend who asks how you are feeling. Use the good feelings that come from these interactions to motivate you to take care of yourself.
Double up on the power of a small moment by "paying it forward." For example, when you pass someone in the hall and they smile at you, make it your goal to share that smile with the next person you see. You will feel more motivated and others will too.
