I pay myself the target amount of calories for the day when I wake up in the morning. Then I spend them as if they were money. For example i have 1500 calories grape fruit = 75 calories for breakfast that leaves me with 1425 calories to spend on lunch and dinner.
If there are calories left over at he end of the day you can "save them " and use them for a snack or one of those days that everything goes wrong and you end up at KFC in desperation. Your weekly average will still remain on track.Just dont save them for more than 1 week.
One thing that you are certain to find in a school is a Lost and Found bin. This can work for school age kids at home as well. Allocate a large sized basket for your “family lost and found”.
At the end of each day, any toys or other miscellaneous items left on the floor or stairs will be put into the basket. Let your family know that the basket of “stuff” will be tossed or donated by the end of the week.
