When I first started exercising, I was completely out of breath. I couldn't do anything for more than 5 mins(seriously). I find that as you progress into doing Physical Activity, you'll often succeed at sticking with it.

More Information:

Take me for instance, as I progressed into Physical Activity, I started to do something I'd love to do, which is Walking. Anything from Walking to Swimming to Gardening is exercise. And chances are, when it's something you like to do, you'll stick with it in the long run.

  • How long did it take for you to work up to more then five minutes? I just moved in with my mom 2 months ago and am trying to help her get her weight and type 2 diabetes under control. She has been going 5 days a week for the last 3 weeks to the gym with me and is getting discouraged because she is still struggling so much just doing 6 minutes most mornings on the stationary bike. - by BEINSPAHR

Walking is the best for me and Pilates. I am not very good at all the other intense workout classes! - by LOZUKE
  • I started on the stationary bike at 1 mile. Now on a good day I can do 10 miles. It has taken a while, but I have enjoyed the journey and challenging myself to go a little farther. emoticon - by DREAMLADY1
