I know that if I deprive myself of sweets I will not be able to stick to my program so I found a cookbook called Cook Yourself Thin and they have wonderful recipes for everything in there as well as sweets. Chocolate cake being one of the recipes in there for ppl like me. You should pick up a copy.
It's helped me to not binge on sweets which enables me to keep on my program. Also I do buy the 100 cal snacks in the store to help me on the run and I've still dropped over 252 lbs, it works for me.
