I do this all the time! It helps control my cravings to be "tasting" something between meals. Sometimes, when I think I'm hungry, I chew a piece of sugarless gum first, and if I'm not still feeling the need to eat after about 15 minutes, I know my body wasn't really ready for food.

I have problems with my sweet tooth. But it is a fact that cinnamon can help against it! So when I have a sweet tooth attack that just won't go away I take a apple and quarter it and sprinkle some cinnamon on it. Eating the apple slowly you can just feel the sweet tooth go away.
