Keeping Motivated in the Face of Handy Candy Bowls at work
The lovely man sitting across the aisle from me has a candy bowl constantly filled with my favorite chocolates. I finally made a sign for myself - in colors - with clip art - saying "TRULY" (in green) "No More Candy" (in black) "Do this for youself" (in blue) and "LOVE YOURSELF" (in big red letters) with pictures of the Willendorf Goddess, Aphrodite, and hearts around the "LOVE YOURSELF" - then underneath, I pinned up pictures of me when I weighed 315 pounds as reminders. It's working great!
I put it up on my cubie wall so that I would see it before I headed across the aisle to raid the candy bowl. I didn't touch a single piece of candy yesterday.... and I even decided that every time I got up from my desk, I'd make a figure 8 lap around my floor! Got in more steps that way!
You cannot walk the dog without getting exercise youself! When your pup's gotta go, he's gotta go! Take him for a walk, and you'll be exercising youself.
Your dog likes a change of scenery. He wants to water other people's bushes. Take him for a walk so he can check out all the neighbor's greenery. At the same time, you'll be helping your muscles and your waist line.
