When I am tempted to buy a chocolate bar I find that if I instead have a piece of sugar free chewing gum it diminishes the urge to give in to the urge. I usually keep a supply of gum in my bag and also by the TV and computer. I hope this helps somebody.

I have discovered that if I make a salad for 10, eat as much as I want, and store the rest in the fridge, I snack on junk less. Having a prepared salad in the fridge makes it easy for me to choose the veggies over the salty/crunchy food I'm craving... grated cabbage in the salad helps!

I won't keep sweet stuff around the house. If I am really craving chocolate, I'll make myself go to the gas station and buy two pieces of chocolate from the 25 cent bin. That's less than 100 calories and is enough to curb the cravings!
If I won't go all the way to the gas station for chocolate, it wasn't much of a craving anyway.
