Watch your calories but still try and consume tasty food you're actually excited for. Limiting yourself too strictly will lead to unhapiness with your diet and/or binge eating.
When we start trying to eat healthy its like salad vs pizza, margaritas vs. water w/ lemon. Be realistic and prepare foods you actually like. For example if you know you're not going to eat plain oatmeal buy the sugary version and work out more later, ease off heavy dressings slowly, etc.
When you begin to make lifestyle changes whether it's getting healthy physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, or taking control of finances,or education take the time to recognize the success in even the smallest of changes. Getting excited about the smallest of changes is a lot more healthy than dwelling negatively on were you are vs were you want to be. Positive thinking prompts positve changes. Stay focused, stay encouraged. Remember even the smallest of change is a success.
The tragedy in life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goal to reach. Benjamin Mays
