I take every thing out of the area I am cleaning (closet, desk etc.) then I wipe down the area so it is nice and clean. I start by putting back the most important items first. I go through every item. It is either save, garbage, or give away. It is all nice organized and clean when finished

I heard this one from Chris Powell. Rearrange your furniture to give yourself a new outlook, and to match your new image. Making over your bedroom or other room in the house may help you to lose weight. Doesn't need to be expensive. Do some deep cleaning, rearrange the furniture, buy a few new items like new pillows or sheets. Get rid of clutter. When you declutter your environment, it spills over into other areas.
I really hate to exercise, it would cause so much pain. I needed to build up the muscles! So I started water jogging. Same benefits, much more fun, and no pain. You'll feel like noodle when you get out of the water though ;)
My kids are 17 and 23 but if you check my cleaning cupboard, you'll always see a small pack of diapers. I use them for major spills around the house. A diaper can suck a full glass of red wine from a white carpet without leaving a stain. It works quickly and easily and usually one does the job.
Stand on the diaper for deeper pick up.
