Whenever I flounder, I always return to journaling my food. Every morsel that goes into my mouth is either measured and recorded, or guestimated to my best ability. While it takes some effort to do this, it brings awareness to what I am eating. Always helps drop the pounds! Always.

    Nothing puts the lie to "But I don't eat *that* much!" like journaling. Especially if you remember to write down every last nibble and taste. The first time I did that I was aghast at the sheer volume of food I had snarfed without thinking.

    I always make sure I have a note book and pen when I go out to make sure I write everything down

    This is a great idea!

I started last month writing everything down in a journal notebook. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and 1 section for snacks. I use one full page per day and I also add notes on my exercises done that day.

    I record my food intake every day. Not only on sparkpeople, but at home too. Its surprising how you become aware of what you ARE eating, and what you SHOULD be eating, all without realising that you are doing it. Its a great learning curve: soon, your eating habits are on auto-pilot, and you are on the road to success emoticon emoticon
