Changing Up My Exercise Routine

Members Were Sparked
This Sparked Me!

After a while my body gets use to the exercises that I am doing and stops losing weight. I find if I do new different types things my body kicks into gear again and starts to lose pounds. Try this when you get stuck.

I get bored with the same routine. I stopped walking in the mornings cause of the winter. But I'm going to start walking again. I will walk at least 2 days a week and do the videos the other 3 days. I hope this works.

Just a quick thought wouldn't it be better to switch it up all the time rather than waiting to hit a wall. I have read that your routines should be a mix and match...a couple of days of this and a couple of that. Just a thought. I know we have all hit the plateau from time to time but it would seem to avoid it would be easier or at least better.

PYNETREE 4/3/2014 9:37:00 AM

Might be time for me to switch it up. Thanks!

I agree. This is one reason I like classes like Body Pump - a new routine comes out every few months.

This is the reason I take classes like Body Pump, Yoga, CX30, and Pilates. They change it up for you.
DJHUMPHREY 10/26/2013 6:37:00 AM

I joined the Kroc Center and they have classes for me to take but I just can't seem to take the first step and go.
Any suggestions?

I would like to be a yogi someday but I can't even take the first step?!?
MICHELELYNN777 3/1/2012 1:10:00 PM

I agree! I also get bored if I do the same thing all the time :) It's good to keep your body guessing!
TWOSMALLDOGS 2/27/2012 7:50:00 PM

I need to do that as well, but I get such joy of seeing myself improve with my normal routine. When I switch it up it becomes more difficult to measure this improvement.

PUDLECRAZY 2/27/2012 6:14:00 AM

I need to do this, but it will probably be summer before I have time. Meanwhile, it's walk/run for me.
