Don'T Set "Set In Stone" Goals For Pounds Lost

I have always set goals for weight loss for myself. For example: I will lose 10 pounds by June. This sets you up for failure. Set your goals for what you have complete control over. For example: I will exercise 5 days a week and stay within my food plan.

Sometimes our bodies play tricks on us while we are trying to lose weight. We build more muscle that weighs more than fat. I only lose weight every ten days... it is funky!

    I do like this, it's so easy to just set a number goal instead of a lifestyle goal. My lifestyle goal is to lose my weight to avoid diabetes and heart disease that is common in my family, and to help avoid further knee problems. I also am trying to lose the weight to set a healthy example for my two girls. It's tricky though, because I am a part of WW, and I am going to be setting a goal weight with my leader in the next few weeks, so we'll see what she says. Realistically, I don't plan on being a waif, I just want to have a healthy BMI for the first time in 12 years!
