My thin friend does this:
She gets dressing on the side at a restaurant, dips her fork in it and then she takes a bite of her salad. She does NOT pour the whole thing on her salad like I used to do!
You get to have your "cake" (dressing, in this case) and eat it too (you get some taste without all of the fat). Of course, you can modify it for home use - you can use a small cup measure to dip your fork in. Most of the dressing will fall back into the cup after you dip the fork.
