Using a multi-tier bamboo steamer that you put on top of your normal pan, makes great low fat or fat free cooking. It leaves all flavor and nutrients in the food and is much quicker than you'd think!
I often put potatoes and carrots on the bottom layer and fish and faster-cooking veggies on top. The small amount of water that's needed is brought to a boil really quickly and the food is all cooked through within minutes. The whole meal done at the same time in one pot/steamer - love it!
