  • I agree wholeheartedly! I try to do different things too because then I am begin to feel more athletic in terms of being outside and tackling things that intimidated me in the past...kayaking, running, climbing etc - by SPUNKYDUCKY

    This really hit home for me this morning. I have been circling the same 5 pounds or so on the scale for a YEAR. I went to see my doctor yesterday and was litterally the same weight that I was last time I was there. I asked what more I could do, and my doctor suggested moving my focus from weight loss to health. She pointed out that my blood pressure numbers were PERFECT - 129 over 86. She also suggested that we check my Thyroid levels again to see if I'm where I need to be and said that, for me, losing weight will probably always be a struggle since I have hypothyroidism, PCOS and metabolic syndrom. It's hard to deal with, especially since we're all so programmed to judge ourselves based on the numbers on the scale every time we step on, but I'm working on it.
