I was NOT a vegatable eating up until three months ago. Yes, I would eat FROZEN broccoli but that was minimal until I discovered Ziploc Steam Bags. I now ONLY buy fresh vegatables & can't get enough of them. Putting ANY vegatable in these bags & microwave them they taste just like gold!

MORE INFORMATION:
The Ziploc Steam Bags come in several sizes.

I steam my veggies at home in a steamer but I like this idea for veggies at work....I will use them at work. emoticon

Both of these ideas are great.... I plan to try both, pre-cutting and storing in the bags so that they are ready to go when I am ready to eat, and I like the idea of using a rice cooker to steam the vegys... hadn't thought of that before. emoticon

I was using ziploc steam bags but the past few times I've looked for them at different stores I havent been able to find them. I guess I need to ask my stores to carry them as I do love veggies this way. I also find them great for cooking fish.

I haven't bought them yet. I like the idea of storing fresh veggies in them so they are ready to cook.

I love the steamer bags, and I discovered that they keep my broccoli, cauliflower, and green beans fresh for up to a week. i cut and clean all the veggies when I buy them, store them right in the steamer bags in the fridge, and when I want them just pop them right into the microwave.

Using those ziploc bags when steaming keeps the kitchen cool in the summer too. I LOVE them!
RHONDAEURE 4/28/2010 8:24:00 PM

I actually bought a small rice cooker with a steamer pan at Target for $12. That way I don't have to keep buying steamer bags. And I eat steamed vegetable every day! emoticon
