I'Ll Have A Slice Of Birthday Cake At The Restaurant!

I LOVE to BAKE! The problem IS I LOVE to EAT WHAT I BAKE! So, now instead of baking a birthday cake or some other sweet that will last a week in the house,I celebrate the day by eating OUT and having the slice of cake, pie or sweet treat at a restaurant! That way I have my cake "SLICE" and eat it too
I KNOW I WILL celebrate with some sweet treat, but keeping only one slice within reach and OUT at a restaurant fulfills my sweet tooth, sense of celebration, and keeps the REST away from my waistline! That helps me "teach" my body that one piece is ENOUGH!

One of the fastest ways I end up killing my motivation is being too strict with myself and my plan. I have learned that I have to make it a plan I can LIVE WITH for the rest of my life. I'm not going to go the next 40 years without eating another piece of birthday cake, or without eating at a favorite restaurant, or without having a sweet treat. Once I say "this is the LAST (insert guilty item here) I'm ever going to eat" I've set myself up to fail.
I've learned it's more important to eat and live healthfully the majority of the time and forgive myself for indulging when I do. I can have the cake or the candy or the fast food or whatever it is I'm craving - I just can't do it EVERY DAY.
If I am out at a birthday party or some other social function and the usual foods are available, I tell myself this... The birthday cake is not going to taste any different than any other birthday cake you have had over the years, so remember how the last one tasted and keep it moving. This is my way of avoiding unwanted calories.
It's my birthday Saturday 10/2. A while back I did a web search for birthday freebies. I joined several of my favorite local restaurants and between last week and now, I can eat free meals and/or desserts/appetizers for the next 2 weeks. : ) No strings attached. Just print out the coupons celebrating your birthday they send you.
