Do not underestimate the power of 10,000 steps a day. A pedometer is incredibly motivating. I won't go to bed unless I have reached the 10,000 step minimum. I am actually in constant competition with myself to see how many steps I can add by a given time each day.

Getting a pedometer is the best incentive to exercise, and my fitbit which I invested in after Christmas has been brilliant as it syncs to my Spark account and my fitbit account shows me how much I have done each day, week and month, and gives me a daily nutrition guidance.
I've had troubles getting my pedometer to register my steps depending on what I'm wearing. My solution, I clip it on the tongue of my tennis shoes when I wear them or on the top of my boot. It counts just fine then.
Tip: Ever get caught in rain/snow/sleet? Take a few small plastic sandwich bags when you go on your walk, hike, sporting event...great prevention for anyone of any age who might be at risk for a wet phone/pedometer from wet pockets!! Easier than rice! 148
