The Scale Is Your Friend, But...

This Sparked Me!

While I was losing weight it really helped to weigh only once a week, and even then not paying too much attention to that one event. What I focused on was the lowest weight of each month. That numbered captured my continuing progress much more accurately.

I do the same thing. I weigh every day but I've found that fluctuations range from 1-3 pounds. I used to get discouraged until I decided to focus on the positive. So I focus on what I've lost for the month not daily. I know my body is adjusting to the exercise and eventually the scale will continue downward.

So true. There are so many other things that can affect the number on the scale so it can become a little demotivating when your efforts don't seem to be paying off.
I am trying to put my focus more onto the health benefits than my weight as such. By making each little decision every day count, I can feel like I am making progress even if the scale doesn't move.
