    I feel your pain! I have been actively trying to lose weight for a week now (but really I've tried my whole life) and the part I dreaded the most was working out. I' m sorry, but the Seinfeld re-runs that come on during my elliptical session aren't enough to encourage me to keep going and come back tomorrow, ha. So for this first week I decided to use house/yardwork as my workout - it's got to be anyway, right? I was pleasantly surprised at how many calories I was able to burn! And one of the best parts was that by Sunday I was relaxing on my couch in a clean house with sore muscles. Good luck on your weight loss journey - I hope you find a way to get your exercise in without hating every minute!

    i try to make a game out of it, and not everyone has to have sweaty bodies.. I know i work out my lungs just by a 10min walk at work.. and Yes housework counts too :)

    When I read your post, I thought "I don't recall posting on here". That is exactly how i have always felt. But, about 6 mos. ago I got serious about losing weight, eating healthier, and the dreaded exercising. Now, I get up every morning and exercise for 20 min. I feel so much better now. If I can change my thoughts on exercise anybody can.

    you should not be exercising so hard that you can't breath -- and an attitude change is necessary here. If you go into this thinking you hate it then you will never like it. you need to figure out how to find just one thing you enjoy doing and say "I enjoy doing this so I will commit to doiong it.

    I think your problem is you haven't found anything that you love to do yet for exercise, Like take me for example I HATE to run so why would I do that for exercise? All I would want to be is for it to be over. But I LOVE to dance so that is what I do, I take Zumba classes and Bodyjam and I am even considering taking ballroom lessons (a la Dancing with the Stars!) There are so many fun activities you can do, swim, take a hike, kickboxing (which I also love) gardening, tennis, even cleaning the house all burns calories. So get off the deadly dull treadmill and have fun! emoticon
